Irion County VINELink Replaced

Texas changed its county victim-notification service on September 1, 2025. The current route is Texas IVSS-Counties, not an old VINELink screen or the former automated telephone workflow. The familiar VINELink term remains useful when people search for the service, but current registrations and searches should follow the IVSS prompts.

Irion County's custody path is regional. The Irion Sheriff sends roster traffic to Tom Green County, where Irion detainees may be physically booked and housed. Search the correct participating source agency and case rather than assuming an “Irion County Jail” record exists. If the county selector does not return a match, try the physical Tom Green booking source and verify the result with Irion Sheriff.

The agency choice controls what an alert means. An event sent by Tom Green describes the person's Tom Green booking, even when the arrest began in Irion County. It does not show that every Irion record has changed or that a separate court case has ended. Match the source, booking number, event time, and charge or cause number before relying on the notice. When the result says transferred, use the named destination to select the next system.

County IVSS can also carry court events when a participating feed supplies them. A court event and a jail event are related but not interchangeable. A bond order may authorize release, while the jail's release entry records when staff finished the physical process. A transfer notice reports an exit from one custodian, not release from all custody. Keeping those events separate makes an Irion County VINELink release check more precise.

Search One Irion County Person

This is a specific-person check. Gather the person's full legal name, spelling variants, date of birth, booking number, booking county, and arrest date before searching. Exact details reduce the risk of opening a record for someone with a similar name.

That state form is distinct from IVSS-Counties, which remains the first notification route for an Irion or Tom Green county booking.

1. Open Texas IVSS-Counties and select the county custody search.
2. Enter the known name and identity details. Search Tom Green as the physical booking source when Irion directed the person there.
3. Compare every result with the booking date, agency, case, and known identifiers.
4. Open only the matching record and read the current status plus dated events.
5. Save the source agency, event time, and case or booking reference, then verify any release with that agency.

A no-result response does not prove release. The source may not participate, the feed may lag, the name may differ, or the person may have moved to TDCJ or another authority. Return to the Irion Sheriff and Tom Green roster when the county record cannot be located.

Irion County IVSS Record Fields

Available fields depend on the participating data feed. County IVSS can show custody status and events such as booking, release, transfer, escape, or death. A result should be read as a notice tied to the named source, not as a complete lifelong custody history.

County data and TDCJ data solve different problems. A Tom Green county event does not establish discharge from a state sentence. Likewise, a TDCJ event does not describe a county-only booking unless a transfer to state custody occurred.

Register for Irion Release Notices

Open the verified person and case before registering. Notifications tied to the wrong record can create confusion, especially where Irion and Tom Green both appear in the custody path. Current options may include phone, text, or email, with language and time preferences shown on screen.

1. Select Register or Get Notifications from the correct record.
2. Create an account or sign in to the migrated account.
3. Choose the available contact channels and current language or delivery preferences.
4. Complete the contact or account verification shown by IVSS.
5. Save the registration confirmation and review the preferences for accuracy.
6. Call 866-268-8959 when the portal cannot complete registration or the record is unclear.

The old VINE phone system asked users to enter a PIN to confirm receipt and stop repeat calls. That is legacy information. Do not assume the old PIN or a fixed PIN length applies now. Follow the current IVSS verification prompt.

Note: Save the registration confirmation, but keep the jail and TDCJ contact paths available if an alert is delayed.

County Versus TDCJ Release Alerts

Texas operates two similarly named systems. Texas IVSS-Counties covers participating county custody and court events. TDCJ IVSS covers prison custody, parole, and mandatory supervision. Mandatory supervision is a statutory form of supervised release from prison, while parole is a discretionary form of supervised release.

A county transfer alert should trigger a new TDCJ search and registration when the receiving record names TDCJ. State intake can take time to post. The county transfer entry bridges that interval without turning a pending transfer into a claimed state-prison release.

Verify an Irion IVSS Release

A “released” event means the person left the reporting custody episode. It may describe bond, time served, probation, dismissal, transfer, or another exit. County IVSS may not supply the detailed legal release code or destination needed to distinguish them.

Call Irion County Sheriff at 325-835-2551 for the local arrest or processing status. If Tom Green physically held the person, use the booking number with the Tom Green jail and ask for actual release or transfer time, the public disposition code, and receiving agency. Match that entry with a bond order, dismissal, judgment, or commitment in the court record.

For a state prisoner, compare TDCJ IVSS with the public TDCJ offender detail. A scheduled or expected release date remains subject to audit, detainers, new cases, and release-plan approval. An actual event or release certificate is stronger proof.

Irion County Notification Limits

Participation and feed timing vary. A county can send events after staff complete local processing, so an alert may follow the physical event. Name changes, incomplete identifiers, a wrong county choice, or a transfer can also produce a no-result response. Do not interpret silence as proof that a person remains confined or has been released.

IVSS does not replace the live jail roster. The Tom Green Current view is used for present county custody, while its Released view supplies recent exit cards. A person who leaves Current may have been transferred. Conversely, a just-completed discharge may take time to reach a public screen or alert channel.

Keep contact data current and protect account access. Notification delivery can depend on the phone carrier, email filtering, or user preferences. The Texas Office of the Attorney General describes IVSS as a notification service, while the originating jail or TDCJ remains the source for the custody record.

Note: If an expected alert never arrives, search the verified record again and contact the source agency with its booking or case number.

Federal and ICE Release Checks

Neither Texas IVSS portal covers a later federal prison or immigration custody stage. If the county transfer record names a federal authority, use that destination rather than continuing to rely on county notices.

The Bureau of Prisons Locator covers many current and former federal prisoners and may show “Released” with a date or “Not in BOP custody.” It does not establish an Irion County jail discharge and may not cover a person held for the U.S. Marshals Service before sentencing. ICE Online Detainee Locator is mainly a current immigration locator, not a historical release archive, and it can lag after transfer.

Begin with the county destination field. Then use BOP or ICE only when the record supports that custody layer. A county “released” event followed by an ICE transfer is release from the jail booking, not necessarily return to the community.

When Irion IVSS Finds Nothing

Request the actual time, release authority, reason or code, destination, receiving agency, holds, and the code legend. The court docket can then show what the judge ordered.

If the county record identifies TDCJ, move to the TDCJ offender search and TDCJ IVSS. A person on probation belongs to the court and Concho Valley CSCD, not TDCJ parole. If the record identifies federal or immigration custody, use the matching federal system.
